Help A Vet Take Vets Fishing
Every year for the last 16 years a buddy of mine, Joe Kowalski, a member of the CT Bass Nation, takes veterans out fishing for a day, men and women, young and old...over 300 so far. He runs a non-profit that helps pay for it...but the ever increasing cost of gas, hurts...Joe explains it better than I can.
It's not only about the fish, it's about leaving the battlefield behind if just for a day, if just for a couple of hours on the water with someone who has been there, who knows about physical and mental trauma, who knows that peace, for some, comes tough, comes rarely, or comes not at all.
It is never just about the fish, it is simply about helping another human being, simply about caring for those who stand between us and those who want to harm us.
Not about the fish, is about the people who protect us.
