They call it, The Church Pool…
…is it because it is near a church…
…is it because it is a pool of clear blue water…
…or is it simply because for many “Church” and “clear blue water,” means the same.
h2o, it is the one thing that flows through every living creature on this planet.
It is within the lizard in the desert as much as it is within the fish in the ocean.
It is in the sky, and the ground.
It is what we search the universe to find, h2o, find it and you will find life.
“No water, no life. No blue, no green.” – Sylvia Earle
I believe that beings who are mostly water find peace when they are near it, in it, listening to it.
From the moment of conception it cradles us, we become us within it, it was our first sound soother and remains our comforter.
All life on this planet, came from water.

“You are not a drop in the ocean, you are the entire ocean in a drop.” –Rumi
We fish not for the fish, but for ourselves.
We fish not for the fish, but for those who took us fishing.
We fish not for the fish, but for peace, within.
Some fish because it’s their livelihood, some fish because of how it adds to their life.
A man who fishes alone never does so by himself, he fishes with memories, he fishes with his thoughts, he fishes to be closer to those he loves, or loved.
Between the cast and the strike lies life.
“If there is magic on this planet it is contained in water.” – Loren Eiseley
We live on the only blue rock in space and as long as it is blue this rock shall live and be the miracle in the universe that it is.
As we search for life on other planets we send out radio waves so if anyone is out there they will hear our dots and dashes, our old TV shows, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, but if I’m out there listening for other life, to me that would only be noise, certainly not a sound I would know was life.
If I were out there in space listening for life there would only be one sound I would listen for…
…and that would be simply…
…waves crashing on a beach.
“Water is the soul of the earth.” – W. H. Auden
